The Calhoun Community Garden Club aims to create a beautiful, shared, outdoor space for growing healthy, affordable food for the campus community.

Membership Benefits
Members will gain hands-on experience in growing their own food and will also strengthen interpersonal connections by working together to make fresh, nutritious, affordable food available to the campus community. In addition, caring for a community garden involves physical activity and time spent in nature, which can help members relax and reduce stress.

​The club’s purpose is to support, inspire, and share our creative community here at Calhoun Community College. The club is meant to be a supportive community for writers of all levels that is dedicated to encouraging creative writing in all its forms and creating a positive environment for students to share and collaborate on writing pieces. Students in the creative writing club can expect to receive feedback from other peers in the club and faculty sponsors during organized workshops, and they will have the opportunity to connect with other writers at club meetings and events. This club will provide an outlet for students to express themselves and form communal bonds with other members as well as help students improve their creative writing skills. Workshops may be themed around various types of creative writing such as poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, songwriting, etc.

The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize academic achievement of college students and to provide opportunities for them to grow as scholars and leaders.

Membership Benefits
1) Three words: automatic transfer scholarships. Many area schools, including University of North Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Montevallo University, and Mississippi State University offer automatic transfer scholarships to Phi Theta Kappa members.
2) Build your resume. Recognition, skills development, leadership training: PTK has you covered.
3) Get involved. PTK offers opportunities for volunteering, academic research, fellowship, travel, and more!
4) Finish what you started. 92% of PTK members graduate or transfer to a 4-year school, compared with 40% of community college students as a whole, and 58% of community college students with a 3.5 GPA or higher.
